Prof. Yudai Honma has delivered a keynote speech at the \u201cKKE NavVis Summit Japan 2025,\u201d held at Shinagawa Intercity Hall on November 7, 2025. The title of his lecture was \u201cArchitectural Planning that Captures Interaction and Diversity: Mathematical Modeling to Connect People and Space.\u201d This event, organized by the Kozo Keikaku Engineering Inc., is a summit designed to introduce NavVis\u2019s latest technologies and application case studies. In addition to a presentation by NavVis CTO Georg Schroth, the event featured case study presentations by DENSO, Oura Kousoku, A-TEC, and Kajima Corporation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u3000In this presentation, we introduced research that mathematically describes the diversity of values and interactions, using data on pedestrian flow and dwell times in architectural spaces as a starting point. Through mathematical optimization, convex space enumeration, and the use of detailed point cloud data, we quantitatively captured the relationship between people and space and presented new insights to inform design decisions.
