Two doctoral students gave presentations at the AMRN Lecture Series<\/h2>\n\n\n

\u3000Ph.D. candidates Junya Maruyama and Ayumi Mukai each delivered presentations at the Architectural Manufacturing Research Network (AMRN) Lecture Series. A.Mukai spoke at AMRN Lecture Series 02 on January 20, 2026, and J.Maruyama spoke at AMRN Lecture Series 04 on February 19, 2026. The AMRN Lecture Series is an international research presentation and exchange series in the fields of architecture and construction, jointly organized by the ARC Centre for Next-Gen Architectural Manufacturing (Arch_Manu), the Architectural Informatics Society (AIS), the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3000In a lecture titled \u201cSpeaking the Same Language: How Architects Communicate Space Across Disciplines & Why It Matters for Design Practice,\u201d A.Mukai analyzed how architectural terminology changes in meaning depending on differences in field and expertise, using Japanese architecture-related texts as her subject, and discussed challenges in communication regarding interdisciplinary collaboration and design practice. In the fourth session of the same series, J.Maruyama also presented his research findings on architectural space and human behavior to an international audience in a talk titled \u201cExtracting Architectural Insights from Coarse-Grained Human Mobility Information \u2014 Design and Operations, Without Fine-Grained Tracking.\u201d This served as an opportunity to demonstrate that doctoral students in our laboratory are actively contributing to the international research community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
